 I LOVE IT! August 21, 2008
I ordered this even though I was worried by the other reviews that list "too slick", "too big" or "not enough room to store things" as it's negatives. I really like it. I have an older 12" wide IBM thinkpad that's smaller than the cloth pad, but I don't have to flip it for size unless I prefer to. It's grippy and the laptop sits in place very sturdily! I can also fit my power thingy in it and the mouse for when I carry it from room to room. But what I really like (and didn't expect) is that while the computer is on my lap - previously precariously balanced while I'm in bed or lounging - it now sits sturdy and doesn't bounce while I type! And I don't have to constantly adjust the computer. It's very comfortable on my lap and it really does keep the laptop cooler than if it sits on any other fabric surface.
I like it so much, I would give it as a gift!

If you are going to use your laptop in your lap, then this is a must. Comfortable, easy to use and puts the laptop at the right angle for relaxed viewing. Keeps laptop heat away from you. The only con is that it is not comfortable for bed use, puts to much strain on the neck.

The stand does it's job however I don't know how I could put a mouse or cord in the center for storage.

I would recommend this stand if you spend a lot of time (like I do) with your laptop on your lap. I found it very comfortable.

Maybe I'm naive, because my previous laptop "stand" was a tush cush. But I am loving this laptop stand. It's got a fairly firm surface, and I thought I might have some "dig in" issues. It's as if the weight of my laptop is redistributed, and there's plenty of distance between its bottom and my thighs so the heat disperses before it gets to me. It's very comfortable and I'm very pleased. I especially like that it's something I don't have to plug in. Who needs another cord laying about? Plus I don't have to pay for electricity for it, which makes it economical. I recommend this item.
