Well Worth the Cost February 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not sure why some here are down on this product. I purchased it specifically to transfer my sizeable LP collection to digital, and was very, very pleasantly surprised at the quality of those transfers thus far. I Googled a couple of documents on setting up turntables to computers, and found detailed instructions on what turned out to be a simple process. There are plenty of easy to use freeware programs that can be used to make the transfers and split or edit the tracks. The whole process is very, very easy to master, and the turntable itself does the job very well. I've had no problems with skipping, speeding up, or any of the other issues that some have reported.
Obviously you aren't getting an audiophile quality product for under seventy five dollars, but if you are looking to play your albums one more time in order to bring your music to a more widespread format, this is a great item. I look forward to rediscovering many lost treasures thanks to this turntable. Simply a great deal.
Good for it's price February 9, 2008 Does what it says, gives you basic record playing ability, with NO adjustments possible except for 7 or 12 inch disk, and 33 1/3 or 45 rpm. Has a fancy rubberband for a drive belt.
Adequate for the price, don't expect anything fancy tho. Selling points are that it's cheap and has a line out capability. Drawbacks, no tonearm adjustments, no suspension, no anti-skate/bias/speed/etc adjustments.
Perfect for what I was looking for. January 15, 2008 I am amazed with the the quality of the Audio Technica AT-PL50 I purchased recently. I was looking for a turntable that had a built-in preamp so I could hook it up straight to my iPod Hifi and the AT-PL50 worked perfectly. The sound quality is amazing, the setup was simple. It's exactly what I was looking for and the price was perfect.
For some one looking to get into vinyl this is an inexpensive way to do it without sacrificing much.
Excellent January 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an excellent turntable for converting your LP's to CD's. We get NO hum or buzz as the ground is built in to the RCA to Mini Stereo Plug Adapter that comes with it (Plugs into your soundcard Line IN). It is 100% automatic, which is great. You can make it do everything just by pressing different buttons on the front. Nice easy/soft close dust cover. Does not include software, but you can get it off the internet. It is free. Do a google search for 'download audacity software'. Also, Nero (full version) has an LP to CD Wizard built in (versions 7 or 8). Phono needle is included & comes installed. No need to pay more for a turntable that you are going to use just to convert all your LP's one time. Nice that the built in amplifier can be turned off or on in case you want to plug it into a stereo system with its own pre-amp. Best of both worlds. Very happy with this one!!!
Great for the price December 10, 2007 This player is great for the price. I have not experienced any problem with the sound. It has a nice metal platter with rubber pad, most players in this price range will cheapen it with a plastic platter with felt pad. For those on a budget and who want to just play their records and maybe record a few, this is a great buy. Professionals, or those with a giant record collection might want something a little more.
