The jury is still out on this one.... March 10, 2006 8 out of 13 found this review helpful
While this monitor is extremely easy to use, we continue to be confused by the great variation in readings we get. Often, if we take my husband's blood pressure on the same arm several times, we get widely varying results. At this point we are satisfied if one of those readings is not really out of line but I would like to see more consistent readings.
What a difference a good design makes March 10, 2006 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
It is amazing what a little difference in the design of the Comfit cuff makes, I tried 2 other BP monitor and has always struggle with putting on the cuff with one hand. You can never get the correct tightness or line up the alignment marks to get the correct reading without fussing around a few times. With this pre-formed cuff, it is a cinch.
Also, the cuff is fairly stiff. I can use it to push my clothing up the last inch to get it to the right position. With a standard cuff, you need one hand to hold the sleeve up as high as possbile on your arm so it is not trapped under the cuff, one hand to hold the cuff in the right position and one more to close the velco. Needless to say, this is hard when you only have one hand to do all three at the same time.
The BP reading also seems more accurate. I get the same reading that I get in the doctor's office. Tried it on 2 other persons and they think it is correct as well. The other units I tried (including another Omron manual inflate) seems to get a lower reading for me who has a higher BP and higher reading for others with lower BP.
Omron HEM-780N2 Product Review March 10, 2006 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
This product rates a full five stars. It is exactly as sdvertised and is a breeze to use. The Comfit Cuff makes the procedure effortless and provides for very repeatable measurements each time.
The unit records the most recent 90 measurements and averages the last 3 which is very useful for accurate trend monitoring.
The unit is virtually foolproof with mostly one button operation, and if there is a problem with a test the unit tells you what it is (via simple code on the large display) so you can make an adjustment and immediately retest.
When I got the unit I took it on my next Doctor appt to compare it with his. (My Doctor used the Omron that has a printer and a standard cuff) We did a side by side test and even my Dr. was impressed with the accuracy. He stated that he had been using the Omron w/ printer in his practice since it first became available with no problems whatsoever, and was impressed with the apparent improvements in my unit.
The Omron HEM-780 is a first rate product all the way around. I highly recomment it to anyone in need of a professional grade blood pressure monitor at a very reasonable price.
great working maching!! March 6, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This machine works well with the fit-cuff...we have family members with "big" arms and with "small" arms....works great for either and with normal size arms...highly reccommended...
Great device March 5, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great device, seems to be accurate. Comes with a convenient case (used to try to cram my previous machine into an old hair dryer case, which was a real pain). I'm very pleased with this machine and would recommend it.
