Very poor Monitor August 24, 2008 Reads one time at 220 over 110 and Min. later 90 over 70, can not depend on it. The Irregular Heartbeat Detector stays on.
Loving this thing! June 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Boy, I did NOT want to break down and buy this thing, and if I weren't scared to death of having a heart attack, I wouldn't have.
But I'm so glad I bought it. It's way too easy to use, looks very high-tech, and has memory. All you do is strap it on and hit the Start/Stop button. It inflates on its own, deflates when it's done, and gives you the reading in big black numbers.
I took mine to the doctor and showed her my recent blood pressure readings simply by hitting the memory button. I scrolled through a dozen readings and she said "Yep, we need to get you on medication to bring that down some." That alone was worth the purchase price. I didn't have to write any of this stuff down (who has time for that nowadays?); the monitor saved the date, time, and reading in memory for me!
I paid $57 at Target, so if you can wait a few days to have it delivered, go for the Amazon price. You may not have to pay for shipping, either.
I would give it 5 stars, but I just bought it, so I'm leaving off one star *just in case* I find something later that I don't like. As it stands right now, it's practically perfect. The manual is easy to read and use as well. You will want to spend a little time reading it to get the most out of the monitor. If you can't be bothered with the manual, there's a quick reference card included as well to get you started right away. If you really can't be bothered, you don't have to do anything except strap it on, push start/stop, and let the monitor do all the rest. The readings will stay stored in memory until you recall them at the doctor or wherever. It's actually kind of fun...except for the high blood pressure part.
