Great HR Monitor - Recommended August 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great and inexpensive HR monitor for those who do not need all the bells and whistles of the more expensive ones. Works perfectly and is more accurate then the HR monitor on my $1800 eliptical trainer!
good deal August 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
works well. sometimes i have to fidget with the band to get a read .. but overall it is great and does the job. no reason to spend more than $40 on something like this if all you want is a heart rate.
Great HRM! August 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great heart rate monitor! I like that I don't have to slow or stop my workout to check my heart rate. The alarms (I set it at 60% and 85% of max.) are helpful. Using this monitor has helped me keep my workouts at a level that is aerobic (beneficial) rather than too much exertion reaching the anaerobic zone.
Comfortable and accurate August 9, 2008 The chest belt is very comfortable for me to wear and the readings are accurate. I checked them against our blood pressure machine and the readings from hand sensors on the gym equipment.
I use an aloe vera gel on the sensors to get readings as soon as I put the belt on .... you can also use water or just wait until you begin to perspire. It is very useful for setting the speed / difficulty on the treadmill to maintain the proper heart rate. The settings vary from day to day and sometimes during the workouts.
Best Heart Rate Monitor for the Money! August 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great heart rate monitor for the money. I had a polar heart rate monitor for years and it worked fine; however, it was misplaced during a move to another state. Key Points to consider:
A couple hundred dollars less than the major brand monitors.
Easy to use and see even in low light conditions with the back light button.
My old monitor had so many functions but most went unused.
No interference when using with my treadmill.
Comes with bike mount and carrying case.
Reliable. Make sure its snug, properly placed, and wet the pads prior to putting on the cheststrap.
One button transfers from stopwatch to heartrate... no big deal even during track workouts.
I would have been skeptical but I own the Omron HEM-637 wrist blood pressure monitor with Intelli Sense and it works great and is very accurate so I went for it and I'm very pleased!!!
