This is a really good razor with a very fine cleaning system. The initial cost is high but worth it. The cost would be prohibitive if you bought replacement cleaning cartriges every month but the cartriges can be refilled with rubbing alcohol containing oil of wintergreen with good results.

The Pulsonic is clearly a robust shaver. I've tried many (all?) other makes and types. For me, blade shaving results in nicks and cuts,and too painful to go against the grain. As a retired older person lectric shaving works for me. I simply never can't get the movie-star smoothness..maybe it's the makeup.. from electic or blade. I keep looking, but in vain, for a real breakthrough in shaver design. BTW: the cleaner-charger container is rediculous, a waste of money, esp. for refills. What's wrong with a faucet rinse?

A great machine.
Pros:
- Pretty close shave
- Great design, easy grip, pretty
- Self-clearing feature works great.
Cons:
- Don't expect it to be as close as a manual razor.

This is the second Braun shaver I've had and so far the best. Simple to use and gives a great shave even in those hard to get at places...

My barber classifies me with a "monster beard" -- very thick and grows quickly.
I've used a Norelco (3 types) for the bast 17 years. I always thought I had a good shave until I used this. Its is the closest shave I have every gotten!
With the Norelco, if I skipped a day, the next day I would need a weed wacker (or it felt like a weed wacker). With this Braun, I could skip a day and the next day wouldn't be too bad trying to shave.
Yes, it has a big footprint but I love the cleaning feature (works better than water -- have to use the later when I travel).
