5 out of 5 stars Great Buy   September 5, 2008

Smooth operation, BUT you need space to plug this razor in for cleanibg---NOT near water in bathroom or near sink

5 out of 5 stars Close Shave   September 5, 2008

This electric shaver gives the closest shave that I have experienced with an electric shaver. For years I have used a blade as I wanted a close shave, but when I recently shaved off my beard, I thought I'd go back to an electric. This shaver has fit the bill. A bit pricey, but in my estimation worth it. The cleaning process -- you can run it through a wet cleaning after each shave -- is a very good feature and likely increases the cost. The cleaning process is somewhat noisier than I'd like, but I just close the bathroom door to decrease the noise to an acceptable level. Very satisfied.

5 out of 5 stars Best Electric Shaver I've Ever Owned   September 4, 2008

I normally wear a beard, but periodically I need to shave either for a job or for personal preference. I am a blade man, using a Gillette Mach 3 and keeping an old Norelco Triple Header for quick back-up.

I get tired of lathering-up every day that I shave, but have always been dissatisfied with electrics when I use them. I invariably get really bad razor burn and a poor, uneven shave. I've experienced this even with brand new rotary type razors.

All of this ended with my purchase of this razor. Although the instructions say that it takes 3 weeks to get used to the razor, I had the best electric shave of my life with my first shave. I have used this razor several times now, and it is great! I get a shave so close to the blade that I really can't tell any difference; indeed for some parts of my face it is even closer than a blade. Razor burn is absolutely ZERO, I can apply aftershave with no burn at all. This is very important to me, as I perspire a lot and don't want to be irritated all day. I couldn't be more impressed or pleased with the shave I get from this shaver.

My only gripe is that I wish the cleaning system was refillable, rather than having to buy and discard a bunch of plastic gizmos. Not very environmentally friendly. I intend to clean the shaver manually and only use the cleaning system every 3rd shave to prolong the life of the cartrages. Its nice that you get instructions for 2 manual cleaning methods - hot water and brush.

You know, sometimes you get what you pay for. I would never have expected to pay $200+ for an electric razor, but I have to say that I feel like I am getting a $200+ shave every morning. It is worth the money. All I have to do now is keep it away from my wife's legs :(

5 out of 5 stars Braun Pulsonic Shaver 9595   August 31, 2008
I have been blade shaver all my life but 9595 has changed that for good. It is closest shaving to blade with super comfort and ease. I have been using it for 2 months now and it is absolutely magnificent.

5 out of 5 stars Shaving the head   August 30, 2008
I tried the Norelco shaver to keep my head shaved, but it did not work well. I then tried the Braun Series 7 Pulsonic Shaver, and it did a very good job of both shaving my head (keeping it bald) and, shaving my face. It is not quite as good as a blade when it comes to shaving your face, but it is much faster than the blade, and does an OK job. In addition, one of the selling points for me was that you don't have to bother cleaning the electric razor. You just place it in its cradle and press the cleaning button, and it will automatically clean the razor and set it up again for your next shave. Overall, it's a very good product. I recommend it for guys that want to keep their heads shaved. (Suggestion: Have your wife or girl friend help you with shaving the back of the head. It is a lot easier than if you try to do it yourself.)
