Best Contact Solution for RGP Lenses July 10, 2008
I have been using Unique Ph for Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) contact lenses for several years now. After developing an allergy to another contact lens solution and trying several other products, my eye doctor recommended Unique Ph. It does not sting when I put my contact lenses in and it keeps my eyes feeling comfortable all day. I have heard that the manufacturer has ceased making this product. I certainly hope they haven't or, if they have, that they will reconsider!

This product has not been discontinued. I phoned ALCON and was told that they are still producing UniquePH but it is only being sold online.
Unique pH is now being manufactured again by Alcon June 17, 2008
Unique pH customer service indicated that they have decided to continue manufacturing the product in the US. In fact, after contacting the company, they sent me a free bottle without even asking. They indicated that Amazon is one of two sites where they will continue to offer this product. Amazon is cheaper. This is by far the best solution for gas permeable lens. I have Boston XO and this is the only product that will allow me to comfortably wear my lens for more than 8 hours. I highly recommend this product to anyone who suffers from dry eye syndrome and is a gas permeable contact lens wearer. I do use other drops along with this product to relieve dry eye symptoms.

I use this solution to store and condition my CRT lens.
This does not require rinsing before inserting the lens and so it is much more convenient. For cleaning the lens, I use Optimum extra cleaning solution which has much better cleaning power. My eye doctor also use this
combination of solutions for the hard contact lens.
Unique pH - Amazon only source May 17, 2008
Amazon is the only resource for purchasing Unique pH contact lense solution. The company is no longer making it, which is unfortunate for those of us Rigid Gas Permeable contact lens wearers who have discovered and really like this product. If you haven't used it, don't start, since you will not be able to continue using it.
