I got this exact Chi for Christmas last year and it started shorting out after seven months. I loved the results I had, but it hardly stays on long enough to heat up. It makes getting ready in the morning a hassle and usual puts me in a bad mood because I spent a nice amount of money on what I thought was a good investment. I will never buy another Chi. My friends who also have Chi's have had the same shorting out problem as I have. One even had hers catch on fire. Poor quality for what you pay and they will not honor the warranty if you buy it from Amazon. I am purchasing a Sedu next. It costs a little more but from what I have read on several websites is that it lasts a long time and even has better results than the Chi. Don't buy this straightener, it's a waste of money.

A little disappointed in this straightener. I expected more from CHI since everyone I know says they are so amazing. It does a decent job straightening my naturally wavy hair, but it snags in the corners and pulls some out! Ouch!

The Chi was recommended to me by a co-worker. She is a tv news reporter and raved about it. Everything she says about it is right. It helps with frizz and really straightens your hair like no other straightener can!
