Really does what it claims! March 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have very thick wavy hair which I have chemically straightened in the past (just to make it manageable) but cannot do so any longer AND color it as it just dries it out. For any of you over 35 I really hate the Rosanne Rosanadana look which is what would happen to me. I would use a round brush (SO CUMBERSOME!!) to straighten it and then use a flat iron essentially all over and on several layers as it is so thick. This worked but took so long and by the time I was done I was hot, sweaty and my arms hurt.
This dryer gets a little getting used to in terms of how best to hold it but it dries your hair sleek and flat. It really works. I LOVE IT!!! I have used the flat iron just for touch ups. The time spent on my hair is much less because this dries and straightens your hair all in one step. I would most definitely recommend it.
Good product, takes a bit of getting used to... buy on sale! March 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had been looking at this hairdryer in the store for a while, but didn't want to pay $60. I waited until I saw it on sale on Amazon and bought one. I have very thick, wavy, wiry hair that takes a long time to dry and usually frizzes out when I dry it. With this dryer, you MUST mostly dry your hair first before the straightening attachment will be able to grab your hair (it says this in the instructions). I set the tension to 4 (highest) and it grabs pretty well, but I still have to use my free hand to keep my hair from blowing out of the comb. No big deal, it's not hard to do. My hair did frizz after drying, but seemed to not frizz as badly as when drying it normally. It also did help straightening my hair - not as straight as with my straightening iron - but really cut WAY down on the amount of time I actually had to use my iron afterwards! Also, even though my hair was poofy after using the dryer, it WAS softer. I think the flocked comb helps with this somehow. After drying (which dried my hair a lot faster than with a plain dryer) and then a quick few passes with an iron to get any leftover flips out, my hair looks great. I'd imagine this dryer might not work great for you if you have very fine hair. So - this doesn't eliminate the need for a straightener if you want super-straight hair, but helps a lot. I think it's worth the sale price but I wouldn't pay full price for it (though I wouldn't pay $60 for ANY hairdryer period).
Just my style ... February 26, 2008 I have thick hair that comes down to the bottom of my shoulder blades with some natural body to it. I pull my hair back a lot, so I get these perminant kinks in my hair from the elastic fold in the "half pulled out pony tial."
I'm not type of girl that spends a lot of time on my hair and makeup, so previously I would just towel dry, comb out, and let my hair air dry (unless it was really cold out then I would use a dryer). I never got the hang of using a round brush because I'm just not coordinated enough.
I bought this because I love the way my hair looks straight, but as it dries naturally, all the kinks and body come back.
This is so easy to use. I never even bothered with the instructional DVD, and I got the hang of it really fast. I use it all the time now, and I let my hair down a lot more too. This is just the type of product I was looking for.
I love this product February 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was in the market for a professional salon-quality hair dryer and was apprehensive about shelling out hundreds of dollars for one. I came across this product and decided to give it a try. While it does take practice to become adept at using the attachment, once I mastered it, I really love it!! My hair is longer than shoulder length, in layers, average thickness and fairly straight (it has a tiny bit of body). I use the attachment to create body at my roots by drying the hair sections from the underneath side. The manual and the instructional dvd show the product being used on top of your hair, but if you dry it from the underneath, you still get that straight style, but with a little lift at the roots (where I needed it most). To prevent damage to my hair and overheating of the dryer, I always use it on low heat when the attachment is on. It takes a little longer to dry my hair this way, but the result is absolutely fabulous. My hair is smooth and straight with a little lift at the roots (ala the Rachel look of the '90's). I love the silkiness that my straightening iron gives my hair, but i hate the way it makes it feel limp and lifeless. This product gives my hair similar shine and silkiness, but without the limp and lifeless feel of the straightening iron. I recommend it for anybody with a similar cut and texture. Just remember to use it on low so as not to burn yourself or your hair.
