| Customer Reviews:
Maybe it just didn't work for me July 9, 2008 I've been using this oil according to the directions--twice a day for 3 months, although I did miss a day here or there.
Pros: It's a nice, very light scent. The smell is temporary and then wafts away, so it's not perfumy.
It's a very nice oil that absorbs quickly. It leaves only a very slight oily film on the skin that goes away within an hour.
I did not have any kind of skin rash or reaction to it, although I did not try this on my face.
A little goes a long way, so even though the bottle is small, it lasts well beyond three months, although it also depends on how large an area you are treating.
Cons: I used this on my stretch marks and really saw very little difference. We even took a picture before I started using it just to make sure.
This was more of an experiment since I'm not really that self conscious about my stretch marks (they're mostly covered up) so I'm not upset, but I was hoping for some more dramatic difference.
My husband used it on his surgery scars, and he also saw very little change. But he has a tendency to keloid, which might be why the Bio-Oil didn't work for him. He has had minimal improvement no matter what oil or lotion he uses, even pure vitamin E.
However, it's apparent that this oil does work for some people, even if it didn't work very much for us. I think it's worth a shot if you're desperate to get rid of scars or uneven skin tone.
Easy On The Skin June 20, 2008 Obviously, it's hard to review a product on promises of a product for future benefits. However, I've used Bio-Oil for two months now and have found it to be easy-on-the-skin. For me, that's a HUGE plus as I have very sensitive skin. So, for that alone - Bio-Oil gets five-stars from me!
Fine, but nothing special June 19, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a fairly light, not-too-greasy oil that's mildly moisturizing, but not that much more. It has a fairly pleasant, herbal scent, to my nose. And that's about all I can say. I don't believe for a minute that it can prevent or fade stretch marks (which are genetic, and which mostly fade on their own, anyway). I don't really have any scars, so I was unable to test that theory.
I've also read on some sites that some people use this to treat acne. That seems extremely counterintuitive to me -- if you have oily, acne-prone skin, the LAST thing it seems you should do is put more oil on your face. This may help with very dry skin or with wrinkles, to an extent.
This is repackaged Baby Oil=MINERAL OIL June 17, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I do not see how this could work when the first and main ingredient is Mineral Oil which has been banned for skincare use in Europe and is proven to be a skin occlusive,IT also may breakdown the fatty layer in skin over time and dry skin out more over time. It also clogs pores and prevents absorption !
Recommend for all pregnant women May 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was given this product first by a friend from England as she had had lots of success with her stretch marks. At the time I didn't use it but then I got pregnant and of course those stretch marks started to arrive. I loved the feel of the oil on my skin and found that it really helped in reducing the itching while my body was stretch into forms I knew not. I do have stretch marks but I feel the oil kept them down and also helped my skin deal with the pregnancy. I have also found that when I have a cold it was a great product to dab on my nose and stopped it from drying out. I love this product and now always have a bottle near by.
