really like this product, does a large are or skin at one time and is powerful. this is my third optima and maybe my sixth epilator (all from emjoi). they only last 2-3 years but that is all i use on my legs (no shaving). i love that even when the hair starts to grow in it is not as prickly as with shaving. works great on the top of my feet too for sandals!

I have been using the Emjoi Light Caress for the past year. I like the Emjoi Light Caress, however I was getting frustrated with the amount of time it took to do both legs, bikini, underarms and arms.
I decided to try the Emjoi Optima since it has the dual opposed heads. I am very glad I did try it. It got virtually all of the hair (the Light Caress frequently misses hairs) and cut the time by about 1/3, which is wonderful. It also didn't cause as much discomfort to the skin of my underarms as the Light Caress did, which was also nice.
I also like that you can remove the head for easier cleaning. I haven't tried the razor part yet, but am sure I will like it.
The only down side to this product is the odd shape and small size. It is more difficult to hold because of it's shape and size. However given my past experience, I'm more than willing to overlook the shape and size issue.

I have used an epilady for about 30 yrs. My leg hair does not grow back anymore except on the knees. My epilady didn't get them very well. I decided to purchase an emjoi optima. WOW, it did the job quickly. I love it!!! It is small, quick and easy to use. I would highly recommend it.

I bought this because I liked emjoi's older eplilator products, which I used to own. Well, this emjoi is a replacement for my older emjoi, and now I wish I kept the older one. The optima is harder to handle, (no grips on it) my hand slips down it all the time turning the unit off, so I have to turn it back on again. I have small hands so I find it harder to manage.
Anyways, it does the same job my older one used to do, and I must admit I have gotten used to it.

Evidently the person below this got a defective one cause mine barely hurts compared to the other devices I have used. I use it even under the arm to get rid of hair it does hurt duh but not like the old ones. Gets the hair on the first couple of passes instead of trying over and over again till you want to scream and DO. I used to have the rechargeable Emjoi but it died rather quickly and was not able to be used with the cord. Been using removal systems for over 20 years since the first epilady (ouch remember that eeeeek)
