4 out of 5 stars Canon Backpack   August 10, 2008
Even though I have just started getting interested in Photography I have acquired 4 lens, several filters, chargers, batteries, and I even kept my P&S; this case has room for all of this and more. It is light weight but padded enough to protect your investment. My only wish is that it had wheels! I would definately recommend it to others and already have. This is a quality product and a great price too!

5 out of 5 stars Great camera bag!   August 9, 2008
I bought this bag to hold my Canon EOS body and 3 lenses. It is great not to have to carry around my camera case and separate lens cases. It also has handy pockets to store accessories (computer cable, remote control, etc.) A great bag, I'm very happy with this purchase!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent   August 3, 2008
I have used this product almost every day since receiving it. It's great to have along while hiking and taking photographs. It arrived promptly and in perfect order.

3 out of 5 stars A decent "light" travel backpack.   August 1, 2008
It's a decent backpack for the price, with good separators and padding inside the main compartment. I would have preferred more individual pockets in the other pockets, however, as there are no good places for my filters.

There are 3 main compartments, with two pockets on the sides.

The largest compartment is divided with velcro adjustable separators. These work fairly well and are quite secure. There are also two zippered net pockets on the part that pulls away from the main section. These are small pockets and will make contact with your equipment. If anything hard/sharp/large is placed in these pockets, there's a good chance that your equipment will make contact with these items and cause scratches/damage. I'm also concerned that the placement of the camera, which does allow quick removal of the camera, leaves it prone to scratches from the zipper which lies right against the camera itself, and possibly the LCD viewscreen.

The other two zippered compartments are very simple. The middle compartment has two small pockets with elastic cinching the opening, but they hold very little. The front most is a flat narrow pocket with no other features. The corded front of the bag allows you to cinch other odd-sized items in place if they are of sufficient size, but is largely useless for my needs. The two small pockets on the side are secured with two small velcro patches and are not sealed, so any smaller items you place there have a good likelihood of falling out. I would have preferred zippered closures.

On wearing: The bag has the usual non-slip padded shoulder straps, and a belt around your waist. However there's nothing to allow airflow between your back and the bag itself, meaning you WILL get sweaty on a day in which the temperature is anything above cold.

My main complaint is that the outside straps are not quick release. They are the kind that loop through the buckle and are drawn tight, which means attaching/removing items through those loops is quite difficult and time consuming. Because the strap is not directly stitched on to the bag, the strap is rather difficult to tighten because when you pull on the strap to tighten it, it slides around in the plastic mount that is attached to the bag. The straps are also only joined to the bag at one point creating a pivot effect that means whatever is in that strap will swing around. The swinging is only exacerbated if you are the type to carry the bag with one shoulder.

I carry around a light tripod with this back pack, and since there's only one loop on either side of the bag, the tripod swings around a lot. On the bottom of the bag are two loops that can secure it better, but not well (same strap sliding problem listed above), and it ends up swinging forward/backward and hitting me in the butt. It's a good beginner bag/light camera travel bag, but as a beginner with a Canon 40D, 3 lenses, filters for each lens, flash unit, and tripod, I have already outgrown the bag and will be looking for something else; while keeping this as a "light camera bag". It is decent for short hikes with select gear, just not as your main bag if you have any decent amount of equipment, or for extended periods in nature.

My fixes would be to mount the straps with two attachment points to the bag to prevent swinging items, fix the side pockets to prevent items from falling out, add more individual pockets to the interior, and pad the pockets inside the main compartment. Then it would be a bag worth writing home about. Otherwise, it's just an average camera bag.

5 out of 5 stars luv it   July 31, 2008
Very good at protecting your lenses and camera. Weatherproofing is nice. Low profile, not bulky or awkward.
