I've been through 3 other pedometers. None has been as sturdy and accurate as this one (I've dropped it twice with no adverse effects). I love that I can take off the clip and slip it into my pocket or my bra with the same excellent results. It doesn't even need to be upright! Plus all the cool features make the Omron HJ112 a 5-star purchase.
Update: Today is 8/30/08. I've still got the same Omron HJ112 pedometer and although I've dropped it many more times over the years, it's still going strong. I need to change the battery about every 6 months but, if/when it ever dies, I'll purchase the same brand. It's the best $20 I've ever spent.

EXTREMELY EASY TO USE. AUTOMATIC DAY CHANGER STARTS WITH A FRESH COUNT AT MIDNIGHT. ADD WARNS PRODUCT IS NOT WATERPROOF. I DO NOT RECCOMEND WHAT I DID, I FORGOT TO TAKE IT OUT OF MY BLUE JEANS POCKET AND RAN IT THRU THE WASH CYCLE. I WAS SO UPSET I QUICKLY ORDERED ANOTHER. MEANWHILE I TOOK THE BATTERY OUT AND TRIED TO GET IT TO WORK. NEXT DAY AFTER LEAVING THE BACK OFF AND BATTERY OUT I PLACED THE BATTERY BACK IN AND TO MY SURPRISE IT WORKED PERFECTLY. NOW I KEEP ONE AT BOTH OF MY HOMES. I USE IT AT ALL TIMES.

Does exactly what I hoped it would - accurate, easy to use, very motivating without being annoying. Even survived a brief plunge into a hot tub!

I think this pedometer is great. It helps motivate me to walk and gives me a sense of accomplishment. I found it very easy to set-up and very easy to use. I love the features - the 7 day memory, the separate tracking of aerobic and regular steps, number of minutes spent on aerobic steps, calories burned, miles walked. Also - the clip on the lanyard is a nice feature. I always use both the main clip on the plastic holder and the lanyard clip and like feeling that its secure and won't fall off and get lost while in use.

The pedometer works in my purse. The clip on feature is great and the accuracy is excellent. It is easy to use. I would recommend this product to anyone who has the desire to keep track of their steps or miles from one day to one week. I would buy the product again for a gift.
