WORKS ONCE, THEN NEVER AGAIN July 21, 2008 I use a MacBook, running on OS X. The first time I plugged the reader in (following the directions specifically toward Mac users in the book) everything went fine. The photos imported into iPhoto and I imported them into the computer. I disconnected it the way the book told me to. The second time however, the reader's light did not light up, did not recgonize the memory card. It would not eject from my computer. I unplugged it, and the memory card now says "File Error" when I try to use it on my computer. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
Works fine, doesn't need software July 12, 2008 This product works just fine on my mac. I use it mostly to transfer photos from the xd card in my camera. There's a piece of tape on the reader that says something like STOP! Do not use this product without installing the software! That's BS. You don't need the software. It works just like any other usb card reader where you just plug it in and your computer knows it's there. I didn't use the software because of past experiences where software like that will make itself the default reader for your photos and run random background programs that slow down your system. Other than that, this product is pretty fast and so far it works well. I'm not sure what the button is for, but when I plug the reader in iphoto starts automatically and I can just import all my photos by clicking my mouse. That's easy enough for me.
Great little device July 9, 2008 This little does what is advertised without any problems. I load music for my Sansa player and unload images to my PC. No complaints.
Destroyed my SanDisk Ultra II memory card July 6, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This card reader worked great for about year or so, then one day it corrupted all the files it transferred. Luckily, I was still able to transfer the pix directly from the memory card/camera to the computer. But THEN when I tried to use the card again, it would not work. So, it completely destroyed a SanDisk Ultra II 1GB memory card. Needless to say, I can't use this product any longer.
great product June 25, 2008 It works well I only wish it was more compatible with the Mac. The button does not work with Macintosh computers, but the reader still works just fine. Plug a card in to it and the system detects it. To eject the card on the Mac just use the normal drag and drop, or if you have it set up right click procedure.
