4 out of 5 stars 1.5 is nice 2.0 would be better   June 9, 2008

As a 1.5x converter, this lens deserves 5 stars. The optics appear to be flawless and the quality is good. As far as I know it is the only game in town for extending the range of this family of camera. That is a pity, because these cameras deserve more.

This converter really needs to be a 2.0x converter to fill the need most people have for it. If you have one of Canon's "mega-zoom" lens cameras such as the S2, S3, S5 IS that reach out to 432mm (35mm equivalent) then the 1.5 does get you somewhere. If you do not have a long lens on your camera, 1.5 won't be enough multiplier to get you where you want to go. If you have a large number of pixels, you can use this lens and crop the result with good effect.

2 out of 5 stars Not much bang...   May 15, 2008

Not much bang for your buck here. You still have to get reasonably close for this little thing to work.

4 out of 5 stars so far, so good.   April 28, 2008

I've owned my Canon Powershot S5 IS since October and just recently purchased the tele converter lens and lens adapter (required). I love this lense so far and have been able to take some great shots that appear to be crisp and without blur. I had read other reviews that said the edges of the pictures were blurry, I have not had this problem. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because you have to zoom out a bit in order to get rid of the "tunnel" the lens creates when you are taking pics. This is kind of a cool way to frame the picture, but not always ideal for every situation.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Canon lens! But, don't be fooled by DIGITAL INNOVATIONS   April 9, 2008

Canon TC-DC58B Tele Converter Lens for S5 IS, S3 IS & S2 IS Digital Camera
This lens are excellent!. I have taken excellent pictures of blue birds using my Canon S5 attached to TC-DC58B converter lens (see the pictures attached). However, I would like to alert all the photography lovers against the Digital Concepts 3X Telephoto lenses selled by Digital Innovations ([[...]]), since I was completely fooled by them and I could not take a single good picture on focus using their lens (see the bad pictures attached). Further, they sent me a product different from the one advertised, and when i tried to contact the customer service, they disrespected me instead of trying to solve the problem. So, don't be fooled by Digtial Innovations like me! If you want good camera and photo products buy from a respected seller as Amazon.

3 out of 5 stars It is just OK   March 28, 2008

This lens did not provide as much enlargement as I was hoping for. For as big as the lens is and the process to change the lens, I was hoping to get more out of it. I still use it, but sometimes it just isn't worth the bother. I think I would have passed on this purchase if I had tested it out before and just saved the money for another camera.
