Great for Guys March 21, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm 5' 4", fit-looking, have a 36C bra size and average/medium bone structure. I couldn't find a single way to ensure accurate representation of my apical HR, no matter how tight the strap and where it was placed. Worked perfect on both my husband and teenage son, they have 2 different builds but neither are rail thin. Manufacturers need to address this, the only specialty item I saw was a HR bra.
Easy to use and accurate March 21, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Until you know what your aerobic or fat-burning heart rate feels like, constantly, with enough confidence that you know for a fact you won't work yourself to death with a too-high heartrate, this product is for you! I wore a Polar (expensive) for years and was rarely without it on runs. When it finally gave out, I bought an Omron and discovered it's just as good - and far less expensive. I purchased this current one for my daughter, who tends to push herself a little too hard and then gets fatigued...not good at all for one's health. I'm still surprised at how many people don't know their heart-rate range for a good workout!! It's 220 minus your age for your maximum heart-rate. That's the maximum your heart should beat...NOT during exercise! Take 70-85% of your maximum--the lower number for fat-burning, the higher number for building aerobic capacity--and there you go!
Wear an Omron when you run, then live long and prosper!
Good product for its price March 19, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For the price of less than $40.00 this product delivers. It might not be super accurate as far as reading the heart rate but it comes pretty closed. I recommend it.
good partner for exercising alone March 19, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
good partner for exercising alone and easy to use for me. The instruction for it was good enough to learn how to use it.
A great monitor at a great price! March 15, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I looked at many heart rate monitors and in the past spent over $100 for a Polar and this one is by far just as good if not better. It is easy to set up and it works well. I didn't need all the bells and whistles. The most important thing was to see my heart rate. Of course it has other features but I haven't had the need to use them. Great deal for the money!
