 Can't get there from here October 7, 2008
Worked really good although I didn't understand why it did what it did. I went from Las Vegas to Monterey Calif. and it took us to Monterey one way and brought us back to Las Vegas a different way on the return trip. Was kind of nice in the end since we got to see different things. Travel time was about the same so all in all it worked out just fine. I'd say its a good deal for the money.
Excellent product; easy to learn October 7, 2008
I bought the nuvi 350 right before a trip to Charleston, SC from the Philadelphia area where we live.
The nuvi navigated us effectively the whole way even through Wash. DC. When it came time to get a motel (we took 2 days) in northern NC, we were pleasantly surprised the Garmin have driving instructions to all the motels in the AAA book we had.
Then, while in Charleston, we used it to navigate around to restaurants and various sites; e.g., Patriot's Point.
All in all, an amazing and effective product at a great price!!
By the way, I'd recommend spending several hours to download the free 2009 upgrade available from Garmin.

GPS did not come with the mount which we can use on a dash board. It had a mount which is for windshield. According to CA driving rules we cannot mount it on windshield. Contents of the box did not mention that it has only windshield mount. If it had mentioned, I would have ordered it separately. It was a gift and person is now looking for a mount which he can use it on dashboard.
Good but not great ! October 6, 2008
Overall Garmin Nuvi served the function that it is supposed to do. This is my first Navigator. I would rate it Good but not great ! I am not comparing it to any other product but just with my expectation from the product. It has a huge start up time of about 5 minutes.. by the time it figures out where the car is located. Another thing I did not like was, when the screen is locked, it just shows that screen is locked.. instead it should show where you are located. Other than those, I am pretty happy with the gadjet.
Great GPS October 6, 2008
We love this GPS it is so small and slim. It has a ton of features and is 95% accurate on locations and directions. We have had only 2 occasions where the GPS has not shown proper coordinates and that was because the roads are new. My husband emailed the company and they said they would add the roads in their next software update. All in all a great little GPS - we bought one for my mother for her birthday and she loves hers too.
