 Exactly what I expected, exactly what I needed. August 29, 2007
Pretty simple and straight forward review here. I ordered a Garmin Vehicle DC Power Adapter for my Nuvi 350, and that's exactly what I received. I've read some of the reviews that say this one is different from the original that came with the 350, but I see no difference at all in construction or usage, so I must have received a different original cable with my Nuvi. This one matches exactly with what I recieved with my Nuvi 350.
And with some slight "enhancements" it works perfectly to supply power to my Nuvi while riding my motorcycle. ;-)

Works. The only problem is the research I had to do to see if this was the right one for Street Pilot I5 Garmin. Not listed on specs because Garmin has discontinued the "street Pilot name." But I ordered 2, one for each car. Good to have back-up, because I couldn't find compatible plug in any local electronic stores.

This accessory is part of the original package when you buy the Garmin Nuvi navigator. You also get the windshield mount, a leather envelope for the unit, and an AC charger. Don't buy any accessories at the time of purchasing the unit. I bought this knowing I wanted and needed it and ended up with two and had to pay for return postage when I returned it because it was "My Fault" I couldn't use it. You only need this if your original one wears out or if you want to have multiple vehicles completely equipped. The product itself is excellent and keeps the navigation unit power from being depleted while using in the car.

This is the second DC Adapter I've purchased from Amazon. I had to return the first one because it didn't fit well into a number of DC power plugs in my vehichles and would not keep a constant source of power to my Garmin GPS unit. The second adpater was a replacement and it does not work much better. It seems like the plug is just slightly smaller than what it should be to create a snug / constant fit when plugged in. Tried in multiple vehicles (3) so I don't think its my cars causing the problem. Will have to live with the connection losing power at times I guess (frustrating).

Not the identical item shown on picture, though it works, I could have gotten it for a better price had I known.
