1 out of 5 stars Cobys VS Jbuds   July 14, 2008

I have had the Cobys for about a month now since I have purchased them to listen to music while traveling on my vacation. I like to listen to music and just pass out for as much of the duration of the flight as possible. Incidentally, I happened to be sitting next to a woman who liked to do the same and in my curiosity I asked her what she liked to listen to. Instead of just telling me she prompted that we just switch ipods. I agreed. The funny thing was that we traded ipods and headphones as well instead of just unplugging our jacks and replugging them into the different ipods. Instantly, I noticed a difference in sound quality. I thought to myself maybe its just the type of music that we were listening to because I like rap and she was more into alternative rock and classical music. So I asked her to just switch earphones this time to experiment and it turned out that indeed, it was her earphones that made the music sound better. She had had the Jbuds earphones which are produced from the company JLab Audio. I looked them up online when I got home and purchased them right away.

5 out of 5 stars Why is it so cheap???   July 14, 2008
This is one of the BEST in-ear isolation earphones one can have. Even as I submit this review, I am buying another pair. Without being too emotional about it, this pair has a better bass and sound quality that EP-630. Since I have the Zen stone, I was concerned if I'd find the right ear plugs that gave me the sound quality I was looking for. This offers a rich, luxurious, and deep audio quality that would please most users. I don't know why this is priced so less compared to other sony or phillips crap out there in the market. I am an advanced user and can easily get the best sound quality with my volume level set at 13 in the ZEN STONE (Max is 25). All in all, it is a very good ear phone and people might want to buy as many pairs as they can before AMAZON cranks up its price.

1 out of 5 stars From China with LEAD   July 11, 2008

From the back of the package: "Handling the cords on this product will expose you to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling." I'm glad I saw the warning before opening the package.

[...] I would hope that you do the same.

4 out of 5 stars Good for price   July 10, 2008

My J-Buds broke recently( about an 18 month life span with those) so it was time to get a new set of buds.

Sound: Compared to the J-Buds, not as good. But for six dollars I wont complain. It is good enough for the casual listener. I wont recommend these ear buds for a more advanced or technical listener but they get an average sound. Still had to go to EQ under settings on the I-Pod to get a more preferred sound, but once I did I was happier. ****/***** considering the price.

Comfort: Once again comparing to the J-Buds, they come with the same squishy ear piece that is very comfortable. I listen to the I-Pod in all different types of enviornments; train, car, gym etc., and it has been very well fitted so far. Difference between these and the J-Buds though is that the J-Buds come with three different sizes so if you have a smaller or larger ear, check those out! ****/*****
