 Love it but the FM Transmission is really lame May 10, 2008
I love this GPS. I don't know how I ever lived without it. I bought a unit that supports routing the audio to your FM radio (built-in FM transmitter), but I was disappointed to find that the output of the FM signal from the unit was so weak that it was constantly interrupted and static-filled- rendering it useless. I just use the built-in speaker now, but save the money and don't get the more expensive unit if you're looking for the FM transmission feature.
My friend has the same unit and has the same problem by the way.

Don't buy any other GPS product. The Nuvi 660 is everything you could want or need - it is the best.

I bought this unit about a month ago. In general the unit works well, there is however serious room for improvement.
1. The manual does not explain well what the unit can do, especially with respect to maps from different locations then where you are (so you can prepare for travel). Also, I have not figured out yet how to make the symbols that indicate the banks, gas stations etc show up larger.
2. If you move before the GPS has fixed your position it sometimes cannot locate you. You need to stop, restart the GPS and wait several minutes.
3. The position fix it gives is to dependent on its maps. The GPS should be able to locate itself to within a couple of feet. It should know on which side of the road you are. However, when you are not on a road but within several hundred feet then it locates you on the road. The location of roads can change, and the unit should trust its GPS position more. The software should handle this aspect better.
But overall it is a helpful unit.

I have had the Nuvi 660 for about a month now, and used it in four trips.
This is a great product. It was engineered just right. It has the features that users need, without unnecessary whistles.

This is my first GPS and I am amazed at all it's features. I love it and take it with me all the time, even when I don't need it to navigate. I listen to music I've downloaded, find places to eat or use it as a hands free phone. And the large screen it really nice and easy to view.
