2 out of 5 stars not worth $20   August 9, 2008
I got these earbuds to replace the current ipod earphones that i've been using. after reading many reviews on these jbuds and seeing the many positive feedback, i was excited to try them out for myself.

i had many complaints with the original ipod earphones that comes with the ipod: two of the biggest issues were that they lost sound quality at higher volumes, and their lack of bass

the jbuds solved both these issues. the bass is very powerful and can be adjusted easily with the EQ settings on my ipod. Also the sound kept the same quality at higher volumes. The noise-reduction was also great. the medium-size earbuds provided a good fit and at moderate volumes i could not hear the TV on in the room

However i was quite disappointed with the rest of the performance. Like other reviewers have said before, the bass is good but the overall sound is muddy, kinda like how your hearing gets damped and faded when your ears pop cus of elevation changes. I tried adjusting this by raising the midrange/treble on the EQ. It helped a little, but not much. Although the earbuds provide a more powerful sound than the regular ipod earphones, it is not nearly as crisp

overall, i would say these are better than the ipod earphones (but not by much). However, i regret having to spend $20 for a product that's mediocre at best

5 out of 5 stars Enjoy the music and not the noise   August 8, 2008

I like to listen music in the subway, sometimes it is too noisy. This cheap headphone is really great. It adapts very confortable in my ears, the music is clear, so much better than my old regular headphone. I really works better than I expected.

5 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Surprised   August 7, 2008
I can't believe there are high quality ear buds available for less than $30. I honestly didn't expect much from these JBuds since they were less than $30 and I'd never heard of the brand before until now. I became a fan imediately after I plugged them into my iPod. The sounds are rich, deep and clear. The only concern I have is how they'll hold-up to the rigors of the gym and every day use. Most ear buds I've purchased in the past last for a little over a year because the cord tends to wear.

4 out of 5 stars JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds (Black)   August 6, 2008
Bought these about 2 months ago. They're decent earbuds. I gave them four stars because they do what they're meant to do. They fit well and they do reduce a lot of the noise compared to the earbuds that come standard with iPods. They sound a little better than the standard iPod earbuds, but you won't be blown away by the dazzling sound by any means. If you're really [...] about having, "out of this world" sound, then you might want to look at higher end stuff, but is you're just an average everyday music listener, then these are fine. One nice feature is a nice long cord. My iPod earbuds were constantly being jerked out when I worked out or jogged, but the cord on the JBuds is plenty long enough to give adequate slack for exercise.

2 out of 5 stars Doesn't last long for joggers   August 5, 2008
Sound is muffled and poor, but you will get used to it. Good fit in ear. Good noise canceling. I went jogging with these daily for about 2-3 and the right earbud went dead. I'm not sure if it is due to the running, but my experience does agree with previous reviews about running causing the headphones to die. Do not buy if you're a jogger.
