Had to replace the Kindle battery after 4 months of normal usuage, which inluded downloading papers, etc, every day. Kept the wireless connection off when not in use. Not unhappy. What our other
users getting on battery life?

1 out of 5 stars what's with the battery?   May 23, 2008

I've had my kindle less than a month and the battery won't recharge. Now I see I can't get another one for a while. What is wrong with you people? Didn't anyone ever tell you the product has to work for more than a few days before the battery fails? If you can't get me a replacement battery, and the battery has such a crappy life, what use is the Kindle to me? Seriously guys.

I was only able to read one Stephen King book (Duma Key - big book). I started to read another book and never got past the 3rd chapter. This Kindle is such a great machine, why can't it handle the simplest expectation - a battery with a longer life.

1 out of 5 stars Is something wrong with the charging circuit?   May 22, 2008

I have a ton of products with Lithium Ion batteries, but I don't think I've ever seen one die quite this fast. 3 months, and maybe 20-25 recharge cycles and I'm down to an hour or less of battery life.

2 out of 5 stars Out of stock?   May 21, 2008

I note this item is now out of stock. What planning. I hope it's not going to be a many-month wait as it was for the Kindle itself. Maybe we Kindle purchasers should conserve battery power by shutting off the wireless connection on the back and not buying any new books until Amazon finds a battery supply. Pass the word. It would have been more convenient for customers if the company had designed this thing to use a battery that's available -- or in this case not available -- from more than one source.
