4 out of 5 stars First iPod Quite Enjoyable   November 16, 2007

This is my first iPod so I can't make any comparisons to previous generations of the Nano. I must say that when I first opened the box, I had to search around inside to find the iPod. This is because it was much smaller than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. I then had a little bit of trouble getting it synced up to iTunes, but this issue was resolved by a little help from my roommate. Since then it has been smooth sailing.

I think that the screen is perfectly sized, and I really like the colors. It displays the video casts and other videos very well especially considering how small the screen is.

I noticed another review that talked about having to search for podcasts, but I haven't had this issue. It has moved from one to the next without my having to go in and select the next one in sequence. I am a huge fan of Rush Limbaugh and so generally listen to his podcasts and video casts which both work very well. The battery life is good. I can keep my iPod going all day at work (a full 8 hour day) and still have plenty of juice left over for the rest of the day.

All that being said, I am very happy and pleased with how the iPod has performed in the week I have had it and will try to make any updates to this review as time goes on.

The Apple 8 GB iPod nano AAC/MP3 Player Black (3rd Generation) is everything you would want in an mp3 player.

5 out of 5 stars A New Fan   November 16, 2007

I never really got into the iPod craze. I have a Creative Zen that suited me just fine (especially the radio).

But when the new iPod Nano with video came out, Apple won me over. It's small, lightweight, and yet the videos are so clear. I'm hooked! Well done, Apple. This is your best design yet.

1 out of 5 stars Not happy at all   November 15, 2007

I recently purchased this item last month as my first ipod and now its not working the screen doesn't light up. As its been said their is no sleeve with it and the back is haven for finger prints and scratches.

The pad is also very sensitive it takes special hand and eye coordination. Watching videos on it is horrible its like watching television 50ft away from the screen.

Definately do some research before purchasing this item. There are some better deals out there.

1 out of 5 stars Form Factor awkward   November 15, 2007

I wanted to upgrade my 1st gen nano but when I saw this I really did not like the form factor. I've seen the local stores here and nobody's buying it . Why because it is really UGLY, the more I look at it, the more I couldn't bring myself to buy it. Not like the 2nd gens which sold really well. The added features like the video, I really don't understand how you could watch videos on that tiny screen. Hopefully, this product wont sell enough so Apple would bring back the old form factor.
