Ipod Nano 8gb is a great little music machine! December 13, 2007 The Ipod Nano 8gb is just great. First, the navigation wheel and intuitive volume controls are just a joy. It is easy to organize music and upload and sync music with this Ipod.
The only shortcoming is that it should come with a dock, as it is so small that the weight of the USB cable is almost as heavy as the Ipod and sometimes pulls it off my desk.
This is my first Ipod and I am truly impressed!

Normally, I love Apple products. I've been a huge fan since I bought one of the original iPods almost five years ago. I bought this iPod because my other one had seen better days. Plus, I wanted to try out the Nike+ features available for these latest generations. Unfortunately, this iPod didn't come with iTunes (and I am unable to access their site to download the latest version). If a piece of hardware is going to require software the company should package the software. iTunes wouldn't take a lot of space on the iPod and Apple wouldn't inconvenience their customers. I hate to give the product 1-star, but Apple has left me with a useless product until I get home next month. Thanks for nothing.
A long struggle December 12, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The first Nano we received was defective and was sent back to Apple (I know, I should have sent it to Amazon instead.) After we received the new one (another story altogether) it worked fine until we tried to download songs purchased from the iTunes store. After a week of trying everything, we finally were able to put the purchased songs on the iPod.
I have to say that the Nano is cool looking, with a nice display and allows for great organization of music, but it is a very particular machine. It took many frustrating hours to get it working properly, and all because it didn't recognize the iPod for music store purchases.
I think that for $200, they could at least include a protective sleeve. I also am not too impressed by the sound that the earphones produce.

i bought this right before thanksgiving for 180. i've been in the market of an audio player for a while: after the iphone came out i waited for the "iphone w/o the phone" to come out. i didn't think the price of the ipod touch was worth it but i wanted a flash memory based player, so i went for the nano.
i first thought it might be too small, but it's a great size and fits well in the hand. it has a pretty good battery life. it's also easy to use: no installing, just plug-and-play.
Problem w/ large photo files December 12, 2007 I think Apple finally made the IPOD nano too small. It may be great for kids or people with small hand, but I would have liked it with a little more weight. Also photos with large resolutions takes a long time to load and a few times the nano locked up ( you can feel the heat on the back of the gadget). If you are using it for music then its great as you expect an IPOD to be.
