Garmin Portable Friction Mount January 2, 2008
I purchased the portable friction mount after seeing it in the car of friends. I prefer it quite a bit over the suction cup windshield mount that comes with the GARMIN nuvii GPS. It sits on the dash and does not slide or move during operation of the car. It sat solid even during sharp turns and heavy braking (test I did.) It is esier to place in a good position in my car than a windshield suction cup would be. It is also easy to move from vehicle to vehicle.

GREAT MOUNT January 2, 2008
I purchased another one of these because I use it with my c530. I got my husband a c340 thinking it would fit...it doesn't. Though I had to return this one I still LOVE the one I use. It beats those stupid sticky pad any day!! Those temp/permanent sticky pads are about useless

Ditto to other reviewers, this is THE holder to get for your Garmin, period.
The only absolute possible negative I could fathom is that if you were in a car accident it could go flying to the backseat, rear child seat, etc. But, then so could everything else not "tied down" in the front seat.

I bought this product from Amazon because it seemed like a good way to easily move my Nuvi 360 between different vehicles. If you have a highly portable GPS unit, the mount should match. No complaints. After an 18 hour road trip (round trip) over bumpy and curvey state highways, the friction mount stayed firmly affixed to the dash.
Wonderful Product January 2, 2008
I got this to go with my new navigation system and it works beautifully. I went on vacation, took it with me and used it in 2 other cars. No worries and it fit on the dash of each car easily.
