My older Garmin 2610 is so bulky that it must be used with the friction mount, which I've grown to love over the years, since it places the unit closer to me, and it allows for quick and easy removal and storage. The mount stays in place, even during spirited driving. Don't be squeamish attaching the mount to the unit - it takes considerable force.

i used the mount that came with garmin nuvi and it kept falling off my dashboard. after reading reviews i decided on this mount and it NEVER fell again! it really works and i'm so happy i bought it. now i can totally enjoy my garmin

This is a great alternative to the standard windshield mount. I have experienced no movement at all when placed on my dash despite the fact that I have placed it in a spot that is not level. When I park my car, I just put the mount on the floor, and there is no visible evidence that I am using a GPS device. In light of the recent reports that GPS theft is on the rise and the windshield mount is a dead giveaway (even the ring left by it is a tip off), this is a great way to go.

After our Nuvi 350 fell off the windshield for the 10th time on a trip to Boston, I had my wife pull the car up outside a BestBuy so I could run in to see if they had the beanbag. Everyone online loved it and I had nothing to lose. 3 minutes later I was back in the car and cutting the clamshell package open. Absolutely the best accessory for your Nuvi. Doesn't budge an inch, keeps you legit in states with window-mount laws, stores on the floor in a pinch in unsavory neighborhoods and packs flat for trips. Perfect!

Because California does not allow you to mount the GPS unit on the car windshield, I purchased the Garmin Portable Friction Mount for my Nuvi 360 GPS unit. I am very happy with the mount.
Initially, I thought it would slide all over the top of my dashboard, but it doesn't. It stays put. I love how easy it is to attach and remove my Nuvi from the mount. It is so portable and very easy to use.
I highly recommend this Friction Mount. You will not be disappointed.
