Not that happy July 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This item never shuts off! I actually purchased two from the same company, just different models and neither one shuts off. It says that after 5 minutes of non-use it will automatically shut off...it NEVER HAS. I'm not happy with that because the battery ran out. Now, neither of us are using the ones I purchased. I don't recommend it.
Accountability and motivation July 13, 2008 As the title of my review, these are the two reasons I have a pedometer. Accountable because it keeps me focused on maintaining an activity level sufficient for good heart health and weight loss. Motivation because I use it to go beyond past performance, to drive myself to more challenging walking goals.
Some pedometers are only good for relative performance, to tell whether there is a difference between the activity level of one day over another. I've found this pedometer to be an accurate, informative and excellent gauge of both aerobic and normal walking. The software, although not as thorough as I'd like it to be, does make an easy to read database for performance review for the unit. It installs simply and the unit easily downloads data with the accompanying USB cable.
Highly recommended.
Pedometer Plus July 12, 2008 The pedometer works in Pants pocket or shirt pocket or clip. Be sure to use the safety line and clip in case it slips out of your pocket. I have found it to be accurate. The software makes it easy to archive each days effort.
Love it! July 12, 2008 After purchasing one for my Dad, I bought two more for my husband and I. It's convenient to have the choice of wearing it or carrying it in a pocket or purse. And I love that it stores both regular and aerobic steps, then displays them in a neat graph that shows, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly progress.
The only drawback is you need to get a tiny screwdriver to open the case when you replace the battery (a standard watch battery that is inexpensive).
Great pedometer, Vista now supported! July 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this pedometer on the strengths of it's reviews. It arrived quickly and I was up and running in just a few minutes. Note: some folks have commented about the little screw that holds the battery door on, there is a little makeshift screwdriver shipped with the product in the bag with the lanyard, so you are completely good to go out of the box. (I found this after I'd already dug out my little screwdrivers).
I found it to be amazingly accurate, if you place it correctly. If I clip it to my shirt, it was within 1 step in 100 several times. On my belt, I think I was concentrating more on counting steps to 100 than on the unit, and I may have bumped it several times, causing it to be wildly off. It does say that this can happen in the manual.
Note that the top weight is 300, so the calories/fat burned will be slightly off if you are, ahem, grander than that. :)
Oh, and the best part, I ordered knowing the software did not support Vista, but Omron now has updated software on their site that does!
