Good Bang for the Buck May 15, 2008 For the cost of this camera I think you get a great deal! It takes great pictures and is fairly easy to use. It's a bit more then a point and shoot, so there are many more options to use when taking pictures. Which can make it a bit confusing when deciding what setting to use. I really love this little camera with the big heart!
the perfect buy May 15, 2008 i am not really a camera person, knowing its techy details, but am thoroughly pleased with A570. Couldnt ask for more at this price. I have certainly used a Nikon (of the L series) in the same range, but this one is way better.
Nice but not great May 15, 2008 Nice camera, relatively good pix...image stabilization not great...AA battery pac MOST annoying and archaic.... ended up re-selling this and went back to my Sony DCS 5
I love this camera May 14, 2008 I bought this camera about 10 months ago. I recommend it to anyone who takes 'snapshots' or is a serious amateur. It was my first digital camera, and easy enough for me to take family snaps with. I've since grown into a hobbyist, and the camera is still tops. I've been able to take beautiful photographs with it.
I'll be graduating to a more expensive camera soon, but I plan to hold onto this one as well.
The only drawback is the length of time it takes between flash shots. But that's standard for point-and-shoot cameras.
Great Camera OVERALL May 14, 2008 CANON A570 IS
Listen, I"m no camera expert but, this camera takes GREAT PICTURES AND VIDEOS day or night it really doesn't matter. Easy to use in every way. I love the dial on the top with preset functions for picture settings and video, just rotate it for pictures at night or day etc. or to switch to the video setting. This makes doing anything a snap.
The AA rechargeable batteries last until I completely fill the 4gb sdhc card I installed to increase its memory and then I still have enough battery power to transfer those 4gb to my pc.
Time in between pictures can be a little long in low light conditions but, In sunlight I can snap pictures consecutively with about a 2 second delay. Overall I highly recommend this camera. The pictures and videos it takes are crisp, clear, true to life and well large enough to view on my 42" lcd tv and look fantastic.
I take pictures of my kid at the park and you know kids never stay still, no problem. The image stabilazation is fantastic. I always get good shots even when he's throwing a ball.
If you want a really good, dependable camera that takes AA batteries so you'll never run out of power as long as you have rechargeable batteries on hand (cheap power),lots of extra storage with the sd or sdhc capability, crisp, great looking pictures and videos then Buy this camera you'll love it.
It does everything I need a camera to do superbly!
