Finally a real mouse, that is also sturdy! October 2, 2008 This thing just feels so solid, and perhaps it is worthy of the time element too, able to go down the road a few years or more.
Greatest thing, believe it or don't, was that I was able to program one of the buttons as the keyboard's "Pause/Break" key .... and it works as pausing in games just great. I was really elated! One of the teflon pads was a tad off position so I was worried the teflon might catch on the mouse pad and start peeling off or something, but pushed, shoved, and pinched it down with fingernail and all is well with no problems cropping up. This is the New G5 with the blue leopard skin, so don't confuse with the earlier one that I think only has one thumb button, as this has two and love that! Works well in tandum with the G11 Gaming Keyboard. Together they Rock!
Of course, Amazon.com rocks too, there were initial problems with ordering and getting a discount awarded to me, but customer service was simply imaculate ......... these days it is hard to find a company so willing to satisfy the buyer and being absolutely fair in all dealings. I should get some stock with them as I feel they will be around for a long time! Jeff "The Home ComputerGuy" in TX thehomecomputerguyfromtexas.com
Logitech G5...MUCH better than its successor, the G9 October 1, 2008 I've owned this same G5 for about 3 years now and I will never own another mouse. Don't waste your money on the newer Logitech G9 because it can't compare to the G5. The Logitech G5 is the best mouse money can buy whether you're a gamer, graphic artist, web designer, or just a normal user. Buy it. You'll be glad you did.
Great Mouse September 30, 2008 Works great. DPI selector is more useful than I first thought. The braided cord is nice plus, so that it can be kinked to avoid pulling on the mouse. Probably the best all-around mouse I've ever owned, and certainly the best corded mouse. I avoided buying it over the years because of the price, but for the price it has been going for recently, it's a bargain.
it's good for it's day September 27, 2008 The G5 was quite possibely the best gaming mouse out there 2 years ago it since fallen to the likes of the G9 but since this site does not carry the the G9 it is the best mouse offered here
Excellent Mouse All Around September 19, 2008 Pros: Customizable weight gives you the precision and control that you need by allowing you to alter the feel and the glide of the mouse, depending on your individual preference. This mouse is tight and very responsive and is able to work on almost any surface other than glass or heavy gloss. The shape of the device provides endless comfort for casual, office or gaming use. I have one of these babies at my office for day-to-day work and one at home for heavy gaming.
Cons: Not wireless. This is not so much a negative since this mouse is meant for desktop use. If you're looking for wireless, go with the G7 wireless mouse.
