| Customer Reviews:
Tremendous Product! July 26, 2008 I spent a lot of time researching different ways to enjoy a Microsoft Zune in the car. This CA-745 is obviously a lower-priced item compared to the other transmitters out there.
1) Downloaded music and CD-Ripped music -- Five Stars, No complaints. 2) Music recorded from cassette to PC -- 4.9 Stars, Low quality in, lower quality out, Who can argue with that? 3) Lighted digital display with FM Station -- Perfect. 4) Ability to plug in one other powered item - Satellite Radio, Phone Charger -- All with no static? Priceless.
After one week, I slammed the car door on the 3.5mm Stereo Audio Input Jack. The housing is deformed now, and still sounds perfect. I drive three hours a day, and it is "static-y" for about 30 seconds -- all at the same stretch of road. Most of the time I don't even notice.
The other reviews were helpful, especially the information about maxing out the sound on your music player (or whatever) to be able to hear any output. In the car, my Zune is maxed out at "20," and at home I listen at a "2." So, be careful you audio gurus!
I couldn't be more pleased with this product. Thank you, Coby!
By far the best value! July 25, 2008 I never write reviews but I had to on this product. I have had a several FM transmiters in the past and have been very dissapointed. I saw the reviews for this product and based on the price, decided to go ahead and give it a try. It by far works better than any like product I have every used. I am so impressed with this product. I have a Nissan Altima that has been horrible with type of product and this works fine. I would highly recomend this product.
Blows Fuses July 22, 2008 Based on reviews, I purchased this FM transmitter to be used with my Garmin 760 GPS (note- the GPS has a built-in FM transmitter, but it's way too weak) since I had loaded my music collection on an SD card that I have in the Garmin.
It worked great for the first few weeks. Only real issue was that I have the GPS mounted on the left side of my windshield (so it doesn't obstruct my view) and the Coby comes with a coiled cable so it needed to be streatched out a little.
Recently, it stopped working and I discovered that it had blown the little fuse inside (easy to replace). I took it to Radio Shack and bought a 4-pack of replacement fuses ($2). Then, over the next 2 weeks, it blew 2 more fuses. At first I thought it was because I had the stereo plug touching something metal but the 2nd time it was just laying on the passenger seat. (I share the GPS with my wife so it's not always in my car).
I now have two options. If I return it to Coby, I have to pay shipping both ways. Amazon has a great exchange policy. However, problem is that they are out of stock and is only for sale by one of their vendors for $58!!!!! So, I guess I'll just get a refund from Amazon and look for another FM transmitter.
One final note- Be careful if your car is the type where the cigarette lighter is always powered (for example, my wife's Pontiac) because there is no on-off switch. In this case, DON'T LEAVE IT PLUGGED IN!
Perfect! July 12, 2008 This is my first FM transmitter and I am completely satisfied with it. Unlike some other reviewers who stated they had to turn their MP3 to maximum volume as well as their stereo, I did not have that problem. I turned my iPod up all the way, and operated my stereo at normal volume. I have traveled in rural areas as well as an eight hour trip across the interstate without having to change the station once.
I am very pleased with this product and highly recommend it!
Very good July 11, 2008 I just got this today and tried it out and it work very good. The other transmitters I was looking at were very expensive and they didn't have very good reviews. This was only 17.99 and it works. The sound is clear and there was no fuzzy sound at all.
