5 out of 5 stars Best Solution   July 4, 2008
I don't normally write reviews unless I am polarized one way or another but I feel compeled to comment on the Coby CA-745.

I was hesitant to buy this product due to Coby not having a stellar reputation but this thing really works well with my Zune.

Keep in mind that it may have static for the first few minutes. I remember reading a review where someone stated that it was static electricity. When I first plugged it in I thought "crud, it doesn't sound good at all" but, once I unplugged it and plugged it back in it sounds great. Fits perfectly in my Mercedes and Honda van.

Not sure why so many people with Toyotas are having issues with fit. Also, I have read a lot of reviews where it sounds like peoples stereos are at fault or at least the user is at fault. Sounds like a id 10 t problem.

It always bugged me that I couldn't enjoy my mp3 music in my car. Now I can jam out to The Sword and Lamb of God anytime I want.

It does not fit 2003 Camry. I have to cut it a little bit to make it fit. I used a CD based mp3 player to feed the music to it. The problem is the CD is also powered from the cigarette lighter, put the power source at the FM transmitter generate a lot of interference. Latter I found the CD player has to be put away from the FM transmitter or it will generate extra back ground noise which is not tolerable to me. I also tried use my phone to feed music to it, because the phone is powered by battery, the interference between the FM transmitter and phone is much smaller, but it is still there. Unless the unit I bought is faulty, the unit is very sensitive to outside interference.

I compared cassette adapter to the FM transmitter, cassette adapter has better treble and not sensitive to any outside interference, FM transmitter has more bass. I prefer cassette adapter because it is closer to CD quality. It is unfortunate that my cassette player only works when it is cool.

I just received this in the mail two days ago and not only has it stopped working, but MY CAR CD PLAYER DECK HAS ALSO STOPPED WORKING. The cd player has worked perfect in my 96 Honda for 2 years now, and yesterday I put this Coby transmitter in the cigarette lighter and it played for a few seconds (it had worked fine for 2 days) and then everything shut down. The Coby fm transmitter and my cd player!!
Neither gets any power now regardless of whether or not the other product is on. So basically, this $15 product cost me my $200 cd deck.

THANKS FOR NOTHING COBY. BUYER BEWARE!!

It's hard to believe nobody else has had this problem so if anyone else has advice please comment but i'm afraid I am out of luck.

4 out of 5 stars Coby CA-745 - Review - Excellent Product   June 28, 2008
The COBY wireless FM transmitter is excellent. I changed from a cassette tape based interface to my iPod and the sound quality is virtually the same. Around cell/microwave towers you get some limited interferance, but the flexibility of not having to have tape plugged in is great. Also, my wife's car which would not accept a tape cartrigde interface works great also. Based on the other reviews, I think any problems are probably related to the ability of the car stereo to pick up the signal properly. Great value especially as compared to the other high priced alternatives.

5 out of 5 stars Good Poduct / Good Value   June 28, 2008
Read all the other reviews on this and similar products. Can't say that I made a bad decision. A good value for a good product.
