Canon doesn't disappoint June 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered the Canon PowerShot SD850 IS 8.0 Digital Elph exactly a month ago. It shipped from Adorama Camera in NYC and arrived one week after the order was placed, which I thought was excellent service. I chose Canon based on a friend's general recommendation of the brand, and I selected this model based on customer reviews of this model posted on Amazon. This is my first experience using a digital camera, and I was happy to discover that the SD850 is quite easy to use, even though it has many features. I've been very satisfied with both the performance and image quality. Everything about the camera has been satisfactory.
Canon elph 8.5 June 9, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The product is excellent for the photographer who simply wants "snapshots". I recently used it in South America and took over 1400 pictures with it in all different lighting exposures and on trains, planes and buses. Of the 1400 pictures I had 1200 that is thought were worthy of printing. The advantages of the Elph series is its small size and easy portability. Unless you are intending to take shots for professional purposes or to prove to your neighbors that you're a better photographer than they are the Elph has always been an excellent series. I own virtually all of the Elph models and think the 850 is slightly superior because of the slightly wider angle lens view and the slightly increased ISO abilities. To be honest I sometimes have used the camera for taking pictures where photography is not allowed since flash is unnecessary in most instances. I note that at least one of the PC magazines recommends the Elph 1000 over the 850. I have the 1000, but still prefer the 850.
Camera June 4, 2008 The camera is very good. With the cord that is supplied you can see the pictures and the videos on the TV when you connect them together. It can take very good pictures and is not that hard to use. The only problem is that you never know how much more energy the camera has. Only it gives a warning to when it is almost gone.
Great camera for travel photos June 3, 2008 this is camera has a great set of features and excellent image quality in a package that is just a tad bigger than previous generation of Canon's digital Elf's. The price (just over %200) seems incredible.
Image Stabilization Rocks! June 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had great word-of-mouth advice before purchasing this particular PowerShot model- this camera is awesome. Very durable- it held up on a tour of Asia without a protective case (because I lost it). Battery lasts a long time, the zoom is more than adequate. The image stabilization is an amazing feature- I got great pics from moving vehicles and action shots came out with fabulous clarity.
