No problem connecting an old NEC Superscript 870 to iMac September 11, 2008 As title, there is no problem using this product to connect an 8 year old NEC Superscrit 870 to an 2008 iMac. It started to work right away. No instruction needed. Great product.

This cable didn't work in connecting a hp deskjet 710c to a new hp notebook running vista 64. enough said.
Works in iMac with an HP Laserjet 4 August 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My PC recently died and I replaced it with a new iMac with Mac OSX 10.5. I love my LaserJet 4 since it is so reliable and cheap to operate, and didn't want to rely exclusively on my inkjet printer. I decided to give this cable a try since it had good reviews. I took a risk using it on a Mac since it didn't state that it supported Macs, but it ended up working perfectly.
Installation was a breeze. Note that this cable does not plug directly into the printer, but plugs into the computer end of the existing parallel cable. I'm OK with that since it gave me more length. When I plugged it in, the Mac recognized it as a new printer with a generic driver. All I needed to do was change the driver to the HP LaserJet 4 driver and it worked fine.
I initially tried plugging this into a USB hub, but it only worked for a couple of sheets and then gave me a message that the printer was offline. I then plugged it directly into the Mac and it has worked perfectly since then. I also have another Mac and a PC on the network and they recognize the printer and print fine.
Works great with both Laser and Inkjet printers July 6, 2008 I've used this now on both injet and laserjet 6P printers at my house. I'm running Windows XP, and it's as easy as plug and play.

Thanks to the previous reviewers of this item, I opted for this to connect my trusty old HP 1100 printer to a new Dell, running XP. Just plugged it in, it took a few seconds to self configure, and then worked. I didn't have to install any drivers or change any settings. How nice to have something actually plug and play. A few days later the printer stopped working, which I don't think was a cable problem. I was making lots of set-up changes at that point, which probably screwed something up; simply deleting and reinstalling the printer in the control panel setup screen fixed that.
