 8Gb I Pod Touch May 3, 2008
Having received my 8GB I Pod Touch a few days ago, I am really glad that I decided to get one. The battery life seems to hold up pretty good from what i have previewed from it so far, and you can always turn off the wifi in the settings option to conserve more if needed. The device is really stylish and with all of the features: including email, Safari, You tube etc...you cannot go wrong. having said that, I will say that i wish there was a small external speaker like the I phone.
Even if you are a first time user for any type of mac software...this device-combined with i tunes- is very versatile and user friendly; you will have it down in no time. Overall I give it a 4 out of 5 rating... really worth the money, but now i wish i would have purchased the 16Gb as the device is already over half full. Also, on a side note, it may be smarter to purchase the device from apple-just my suggestion.

This is incredible. The technology is very impressive. Easy to use, clear screen. I thought the 'small' screen, as compared to my pc would be an issue. It's not. My 10 year had to have this, bought it himself. I couldn't imagine what on earth he'd need it for. But, after a few days I can see why. I'm on the internet in an instant to find quick answers. No booting up, waiting for my computer to decide it wants to work. Turn it on, and in an instant I'm surfing the web. Nice Job Apple!!!

I was so intrigued by the Itouch that I was one of the first ones to run out and get one. At the time the 8 GB was the largest they had but since then they have released a 32 GB one. I should have been patient and waited but even with 8 GB I still haven't even filled it up halfway. Of course I don't have any movies or such on it which I hear takes up a great deal of space. But I do have tons of CDs and pictures..This is the most innovative product I have seen in a long time and what is so cool is being able to watch You Tube videos anywhere there is a Wi Fi connection. I think the videos actually look better on the Itouch vs a PC. I have since upgraded the software and love all the additional features! About the only complaint I would have is that I wish the battery life would last longer and that when it comes time to replace the battery that you wouldn't have to send it in to have it done.
The integration with Itunes is seamless and I have become somewhat of an addict downloading all my favorite classic rock so I could have it readily available to play in my car. That's the beauty of having this gem..being able to hook it into the auxiliary jack of your car stereo and listening to your whole music collection. Also being able to set up an "On the Go" play list of your favorite tunes from your whole database of music is a plus! Loading all your precious digital photos on it is also a great plus! You can practically share your whole photo album with friends and family! The earphones that come with it give a great sound and I've picked up some portable speakers to hook up to it work great when you want to share with friends etc.
The look of it is sheer beauty and the touch sensitivity is absolutely amazing! Surfing the web is probably not the best thing to do with a device like this but you do have that option which makes it rather pleasant. My favorite things to use it for are listening to music in my car. And watching You Tube Videos! The ability to bookmark all your favorite videos is a feature I like and the album cover art that accompanies your CD uploads and downloads from Itunes is such a cool feature!
All in all a great package and worth every penny! Apple did good!

I have been a die-hard Apple fan for years. Their products are well made, incredibly sexy and fun to use. A little expensive...but.
The new iTouch is a must have product for those folks who need all or most of the features that it offers. I really like being able to get
on the internet quickly while listening to my favorite tunes. I would
have liked to see a slightly larger hard drive but it's not bad.
If I didn't have a problem with AT&T in my area (lousy service) I would have opt'd for the iPhone. I highly recommend this product.

We loved the idea of this device. Unfortunately it was defective and would not pick up wireless networks. Amazon was very good about the return and refund. We have not bought a replacement.
The other issue is that no manual is provided. The only way to get the manual is a 90 or so page down load from the internet. That is big, bulky and, when the intent is to have a small convenient device to carry, inconsistent.
