Save your money!! Don't buy this camera June 15, 2008 This camera is a piece of junk. I have upgraded to the latest firmware (1.07) and still can't get the audio to work. You'll be better off buying a trendnet or panasonic IP camera.
Great Value May 19, 2008 This D-Link is a very nice IP Camera with options found in cameras at two or three times the cost. I have an Axis as well which cost twice as much but is not twice as good. That is not to say anything bad about Axis but rather elevate D-Link to a higher quality rating. I'd certainly buy another one if needed.
sucks. dont get it , believe me January 14, 2008 i used this for 6 months since i got it from costco. when you need it to work, it usually does not. it ONLY WORKS ON PC's Internet Explorer. Even its software doesnt work on anything but a PC windows machine. The manual is terrible. it has software in there that doesnt come with the unit. I dont know what the heck they are talking about. Service by phone is in indonesia. And the online software in their help section doesnt come with any manuals or instructions. Its terrible.
stay away from dlink.
One star is too much for this rubbish camera November 24, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
A bullet point list of what is wrong with this camera
1 - the software on the CD does not work - in fact the CD pretty much contains nothing - a clerical error on a massive scaled, unmentioned on DLink's website
2 - If/when you finally figure this out, the software available on the DLink web site (that IPView pile of turdware and the ffdshow jokeware) are horrible to use, and that's when they work at all.
3 - The camera makes Hitchcockian cameo appearances on your network, and shows lots of green, blue or black screens. Once in a blue moon, you might see something that resembles a picture, but don't be fooled; it's probably just showing you a still of something that happened an hour ago, right before it stopped working.
4 - I cannot find any way of telling the camera's current firmware, but I'm not able to upgrade it anyway, because...
5 - I bought this camera from komplett.ie, but it is not supported in the UK or Ireland! If I update from the US site it says I may render the camera unusable! Mind you, I can't imagine this camera being more unusable than it is now!
6 - on top of that are the other issues mentioned on other reviews here, like the laughable motion detection etc. which I won't go into.
This is not a review written by a technophobe. I built the computer that I bought the camera for, and I work with computers every day. I cannot stress this enough. Do not, under any circumstances, buy this camera. It's dangerously useless.
Incredibly, the second camera is not working after buying also! ! ! September 10, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I do not believe after buying a month ago from Target that this camera simple not working and bought again Amazon now and again it is not working. Problems with the video, a shorter easier to say-not works 90% of functionality.
