4 out of 5 stars Good value, but slow   July 2, 2008

I've had my Kingston drive for about a year now. It's in my pocket with my keys and change all the time except when the drive is plugged into a computer. Unlike other flash drives I've had, the Kingston shows little wear from this treatment.

I have not run into any hardware or software compatibility issues. It's worked in every (Windows) computer that I've plugged it into. It's pretty compact; I can plug the drive into a middle USB port and not physically block the ports above or below it -- which is a problem I've had with other drives.

I use the drive to keep items that I'm working on so I can work on them from either home or work.

Summary: The drive capacity is big, plays well with other hardware and software, and it's sturdy. If it were not noticeably slower than other flash drives I've had, I'd give it five stars. However, the lack of speed is not a huge deal in the long run. It's just a little slower doing writes than faster (and more expensive) drives.

PS: Some have mentioned about the cap potentially getting lost. That is not an issue to me, as I've found that the cap will securely snap on the other end of the drive when you take it off...

Have used this USB drive consistently for several months now without any issues. Very happy with it

5 out of 5 stars Easy to use, reliable   June 28, 2008

Totally plug and play in Windows XP. No software or drivers to load. Uploads and downloads documents quickly (I haven't used it for much beyond Word docs at this point). My only minor complaint is that the key ring loop should be on the cap instead of on the end of the unit. As it is, when you remove the cap, while it does fit on the end, if you have the drive on a key ring or necklace, the cap won't go on and would be easy to lose or leave behind. Still, a great, inexpensive product. (If you buy two and get the free shipping, it's a real bargain.)

5 out of 5 stars 4GB Kingston USB   June 24, 2008

Best part, there is no firmware installed to tell you how to back up your data. IT IS EMPTY, the way it should be!

5 out of 5 stars Good working product, but why did I buy it?   June 23, 2008

Just to qualify for free shipping for the other item I ordered. I have several Kingston usb flash sticks. I like the 4gb format so that I can carry a lot of files and updates to programs. I probably would not have ordered another 4gb flash drive but I needed to add $10 to my order to qualify for free shipping. Oh, the things we do to get something free...
