4 out of 5 stars Works fine except for weird Thunderbird interaction (with work-around)   August 22, 2008
Setup in XP was easy and it worked immediately with Skype. Picture quality seems good (but this is my first webcam, so I cannot compare to others).

One problem: for some weird reason, the software prevents Thunderbird from updating itself, so if you use the Thunderbird mailer, you must terminate all webcam processes (including the little icon in the system tray) before doing mailer software updates. This procedure is annoying but not difficult. If the webcam software is running, Thunderbird updates get stuck in an infinite loop.

Only in Windows could two apparently unrelated programs interfere like this!

5 out of 5 stars Good camera for the price   August 18, 2008
I am very happy with this product and would purchase it again.
The quality of the video is very high. I will be sending this camera as Christmas gifts to a few family members who could use an upgrade.
The high quality video feature is worth paying more for.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Camera   August 16, 2008
The images from this camera are very impressive. I compared this with many other cameras on the web and in the store. None compared in quality.

5 out of 5 stars Skype friendly!   August 15, 2008

I'm not sure why several people complained about this camera with Skype, as I've had NO problems what-so-ever! Install camera software, install Skype, talk to people with beautiful video and crystal clear sound! I'd buy this camera again in a second.

5 out of 5 stars The Best!   August 14, 2008

I'm really happy with this webcam ~ it's one of the best I've found for my laptop. Images and sound are clear, and it integrates nicely with Skype, YouTube, email, and other communication or photo/movie programs. I've even made my friends buy one so there's no more annoying jerky movements to see when we get together online! The QuickCam Pro is one of the best webcams you can get in this price range. We chat a lot more online now that we all own one!
