A good all around consumer web cam August 26, 2008 I purchased this web cam because my daughter bought one and liked it. Once installed it was up and running very quickly on my end. My daughter had to tweak her system before she got the audio working but it only took a few minutes and we were talking to each other while viewing each other in our homes, showing recent purchases, remodeled family room, etc. All in all a nice addition to my computer.Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000
Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 August 25, 2008 It's great, the picture as well as the Mic. Have even recommended it to my very picky Dad.
Easy setup, works exceptionally well August 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Out of the box, connected and up and running under Vista in only a few minutes. Exceptionally clear images. Could pan around my small office and even out the door and the receiving party said they could see everything clearly, including pets and bicycles outside. Spent more than I had originally intended to basing my decision on other reviews and I think the extra bucks spent were worth it for the clear imaging and no hassle setup.
A Good Value August 23, 2008 Installed on wife's compuer - Camera worked right out of the box. Well worth the price.
Works fine except for weird Thunderbird interaction (with work-around) August 22, 2008 Setup in XP was easy and it worked immediately with Skype. Picture quality seems good (but this is my first webcam, so I cannot compare to others).
One problem: for some weird reason, the software prevents Thunderbird from updating itself, so if you use the Thunderbird mailer, you must terminate all webcam processes (including the little icon in the system tray) before doing mailer software updates. This procedure is annoying but not difficult. If the webcam software is running, Thunderbird updates get stuck in an infinite loop.
Only in Windows could two apparently unrelated programs interfere like this!
