very happy August 8, 2008 For as much of a techie that I am (built my own PVR and home network entertainment system) I have never bothered purchasing a card reader. I just plugged the card into the built in port on my printer (not usb 2.0) and walked off as it copied 100 pictures in about 18 minutes. Since I was buying a usb hub, I figured I would grab one of these as well due to the cost and possibly getting a new printer without a port. Wow, 100 pictures now copy in less than 2 minutes. No complaints about it at all, thought the only port I use right now is the sony card from my sony camera. Used it about 6 times so far, no issues, well worth the money if you need a quick offload speed...such as when you are leaving for a family reunion and just remembered that you forgot to offload the zoo pictures!
Works Flawlessly August 7, 2008 I bought this wanting to have a card reader for my Compact Flash camera cards and my microSD cards for my phone. It works fast and easy and I haven't had any troubles with it at all.
Although it says it reads 19, it does not read all popular card formats August 3, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I ordered this for an XD card but it does not support XD so I had to buy a smart media adapter to use with this. When using with CF or SD it works great.
NO XD CARD READER! (Olympus & Fuji owners left out again!) August 3, 2008 14 out of 17 found this review helpful
At the time of my purchase decision, the info on this reader stated that it would read XD cards. My new waterproof Olympus camera uses XD format and my older card reader did not support it. Neither did my laptop's built-in card reader. So I ordered this and was disappointed to find that it reads pretty much every type of card EXCEPT XD, which was the sole reason I purchased it. With the popularity of Olympus and Fuji cameras, I do not understand why the card readers consistently ignore this form of media. Frustrating to say the least, and it may influence my next camera purchase as well.
Kingston Hi-Speed Reader July 30, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I recently ordered the Kingston FCR-HS219 19-1 Media Reader to move several photos from SD/SDHC cards I had to my computer. The device itself is extremely simple to use and setup. It requires no CDs, no software, just plug and play. Placing cards in the slots is relatively easy (I've only used the SD slot). The card does stick out of the reader, but Kingston has fixed that by allowing the inside of the reader to slide back into the plastic sleeve to protect the card from being broken or knocked out.
Easy to set up, easier to store, affordable, works great. I would recommend this to anyone needed a digital media transfer solution.
