3 out of 5 stars gps   July 23, 2008
Product performed as advertised. I find that it has helped my game considerably especially where there is trouble over the green.

5 out of 5 stars Great Purchase   July 21, 2008
This is the easiest thing to set up. Used it the same day I got it. Web site is easy to use. I really enjoy saving strokes not being short. It has all the courses I need here and in Florida.

5 out of 5 stars Great product for the price   July 20, 2008

I purchased this product after admiring one owned by a fellow golfer. I paid about 40% less than her by buying last year's model. This has all the same features. It is great to have the yardages to the hazards and to the greens, without having to hunt for markers or sprinkler heads on the golf course. It makes club selection much easier. I wouldn't go golfing without it.

The gadget holds information for ten courses at a time, which you download from your computer. The only downside is that when you go somewhere new, you have to remember to load the course from your computer. This has to be done from a computer which has the software on it. So plan ahead.

All in all, a great addition to my golf bag.

3 out of 5 stars Convenient, but lacking accuracy.   July 20, 2008

Used this about 10 times already on a couple of local courses.

Pros:
-Very convenient, finding out the yardages just takes a quick glance
-rugged waterproof casing
-good belt clip design, very secure

Cons:
-Relatively inaccurate. About 2 out of 18 holes will show very inaccurate readings. Eg, it would show 130 yards when clearly, the distance to the hole is only 75.
-Drifting readings. Not sure what the cause of this is, but after getting to the ball, the readings would slowly drift down or up, it could take at least 10 seconds for the readings to stabilize
-Poor battery life. I only get about 6-10 hours.
-Poor screen quality
-Lack of hazard information

The big killer was the inaccuracy. What use is a distance aid if you don't know when to trust it? Will be returning this for the bushell pinseeker 1500.

This is a great device. I love the way it advances to the next obstacle. My friends have the other device (Sky Caddie) and it just does not measure up to the Golf logic. It could only be improved if it came as a rechargeable unit. I get five rounds before I replace the batteries.
