5 out of 5 stars Nuvi purchase   July 29, 2008

After studying the reviews for several weeks, I made my purchase and am extremely happy with the results along with the Garmin dash mount.

3 out of 5 stars Well usable with a few glitches   July 29, 2008
Usability of this product is generally good. The one-screen UI is lean and clean, reading the manual is not required to get started. The map database seems up-to-date for the area where I have used this product in the past 2 weeks, i.e. San Francisco Peninsula.

However, I find two usability glitches annoying:
1 - announcements to turn or exist to the left or to the right come a little too late, at least in the dense traffic in my area.
2 - the system expects me to enter the city name for all searches for an address. I would really like an option to use the current city (according to GPS) or the city of the previous search.

5 out of 5 stars Simple no-frills reliable performer   July 28, 2008

This unit performs exactly as anticipated. It has a large bright display, and a simple, friendly user interface that makes using it a pleasure. The function is intuitive enough that a manual is almost unnecessary. The slender profile and light weight make it easy to carry or store if the need arises.
All in all I would rate this as a highly price effective unit.

5 out of 5 stars Fun and We Never Got Lost   July 26, 2008

We purchased our Garmin GPS just prior to leaving on vacation. We traveled 2000 miles round trip and never got lost using our GPS.
We researched which type of GPS to purchase and liked everything we read about Garmin. I especially liked the larger 4.3-inch screen and it was most helpful hearing the street names for where we were to turn. We also found restaurants and hotels using the GPS. It was not only helpful, but fun.
