5 out of 5 stars Perfect Running Companion   July 14, 2008
This is perfect for me. I can pick a distance I want to run, run half of that distance, turn around and run back. I can also decide on a pace, and check the forerunner to keep myself within that pace. It's great for training and monitoring your running history.

5 out of 5 stars I love it.   July 12, 2008
This is a great watch. It has helped me improve my time tremendously. You can review past runs and monitor your pace to see if you're improving. I bought it to run a relay race comprising of legs over 6 miles. I wanted it because you have no idea how far you have run and want to be prepared when you think you're at mile 7 when you're only at mile 5 1/2. It is great quality and has many more features I have yet to discover. Garmin did a great job on this. I would highly recommend it. It is also VERY comfortable. Not bulky at all.

2 out of 5 stars Don't quit your low tech version 50 for this clunker!   July 8, 2008
Although I really enjoyed my Forerunner 50, I really wanted a GPS-enabled device that would plot my runs on a map. Well, the map plotting feature stinks--it looks like you have to go through several extra steps just to see your route on a meaningful map, possibly paying for another service. But more importantly, I've twice had the device not charge after being on the charger. I'm not sure what the problem is--maybe it has to be in the "off" position? But the worst is the instant pace. With the prior, non-GPS version, the pacing was very accurate and with almost no lag. With this one, my recorded pace can vary from 7-12 minute miles despite no apparent change in my actual speed. They need to build in some sort of a smoothing algorithm. I regret having gone through the upgrade and wish I still had my low-tech version. :(

5 out of 5 stars Good to Go   July 5, 2008
I was a little concerned that I would have issues with the Garmin at first because I am technically challenged. However, I was able to use the product right after charging it.
I love the downloads to my PC which helps my training. I have already used the product during some road races and the pace features has helped me meet my goals.
I have yet to use all the features but I am very happy so far. This is a great product for the price.

5 out of 5 stars Great! Gives a virtual outdoor gym experience   July 1, 2008
I'm impressed by the accuracy and sensitivity of this equipment. I went for a jog with this recently when I just receive it. The distance tracking is great with very good accuracy. It can be configured to stop the timer once you stop or jog on the spot due to various reasons like traffic light/ road junction waiting time. Just this distance, pace, and timing feature of this watch is already worthwhile for any runners to invest in.

In the past, I have always enjoyed running on the trackmill machine in the gym just because its able to give me the distance that I have ran. But now, you can do it outdoor and enjoy the scenery while monitoring your distance, pace, calories burned, etc.

Great!
