Great Running Gadget July 28, 2008 I love this product. I am fairly new at running and knowing that I have this attached to my wrist really keeps me motivated. The information that you get from each run is great. I also like simply being able to just turn it on without having to do any set-up to get started charting my runs.
Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS July 28, 2008 This GPS Monitor is great. It has helped me train for the upcomming Rochester Marathon. I do find that the beep at the end of each mile is not loud enough to hear while listening to music.
Wonderful Tool July 27, 2008 I nearly bought another product, but took a chance on this one...seemed just what I needed to keep track of all the important aspects of my regular workout. Well I've had this product for a bit and I can't say enough good things about it. I've not attempted the software interaction yet...but the tool is just outstanding. You get heart-rate, timer functions and distance information all on your wrist...all info in "real-time"...very user friendly...very customizable...great companion for those interested in steady workout...either for pleasure or serious goal-setting people!
Best purchase I've ever made!!! July 26, 2008 I'm absolutely in love with my Garmin Forerunner 305! It's the best on the market, easy to use (once you get the hang of it) and I got it at an AMAZING deal, which makes me enjoy it even better!
15 Minutes to Acquire Satellite Position Outweighs Great Features July 22, 2008 The Forerunner 305 has great features, and its workout tracking performance is great, once it gets started. But be prepared to turn the device on to let it start acquiring satellites at least 15 minutes before you want to start running or biking. In my experience, with a clear view of the sky, average time to get a position is about 5 minutes, but it is often more like 15 minutes, even though I start and end all my runs at the same place. Until it has a solid fix, it is unable to track your speed, distance, etc., so much time is wasted standing around waiting to start my runs until the watch finds its position. To me, having to turn the watch on that far in advance is completely unacceptable.
