5 out of 5 stars Asus review   July 3, 2008
Wow, excellent computer, I can fit into my purse and take it everywhere. The perfect laptop so far!!!

4 out of 5 stars Perfect for me   July 2, 2008
I love this laptop that fits in my purse. Perfect for traveling. This would not be good for a main computer, but for emails and checking accounts, map quest on trips-its terrific for that. The keyboard is small so probably not good for chubby fingers.

5 out of 5 stars Great for travel!   June 28, 2008

I recently purchased the 4G Surf for use on a vacation. In the past, I have traveled with a traditional laptop but I decided I wanted something smaller and lighter. Having now returned from a 2-week vacation, I can say that I LOVE this machine! It's smaller and lighter than a Harry Potter book, making it VERY easy to put in a totebag or day-pack. It boots up incredibly fast and pretty easily finds WiFi hotspots. (I did find that unclicking and then reclicking the "Enable Wireless" button basically acted as a refresh and made finding a connection much faster.) I had plenty of room to store and organize over 600 photos. I had never used Linux before but found it easy and intuitive. Also, the Office-like software that came loaded essentially worked like the Office versions. The only hang-up I encountered was when I cut and pasted a Word document into a blog, I had to erase some html code to make it recognizable by Blogger. The keyboard is a bit small but I consider it a minimal inconvenience. Overall, I highly recommend the 4G Surf.

2 out of 5 stars Really wanted to like this product!   June 26, 2008

I am sorry I have to give the Asus EEE PC two stars. I was equally sorry that I had to return it! In some ways, it is not the computer's fault. It is small, and I wanted something I could easily take on trips. It was also reliable, and inexpensive. But in the end, it didn't work out. The keys are so small and cramped that I found myself avoiding answering emails and composing a document was out of the question. Further, the screen is so small, that I found I was constantly tweaking webpages so I could read the content. Asus, if you could make a laptop that was equally light, inexpensive, and reliable as the pc eee--and make the keyboard and the screen bigger, I would be an enthusiastic customer!
